Basic Skincare Routine

Who says beauty is only skin deep?? I'm tired of this nonsense. There's a tried and proved ways to actually care for your skin-esp your face which age faster than your body. There're 4 simple steps to properly care for your face before we get started, you need to know the condition of your skin, whether it's oily, normal/combination, dry, sensitive or sun-damaged.

Step 1: Cleanse
Find out the suitable cleanser for your face. You can actually find good cleanser at normal drugstore at a cheaper price. It's better to avoid bar soap as it tends to dry up your skin. It's not good to cleanse your face too often.
For night time, use warm water to loosen dirt and clogged pores. Then use wash your face gently by using just your fingertips, not your palm. Then rinse the cleanser off with cool or lukewarm water. This will close up the pore. If you apply makeups or sunscreen on your face, it's better to remove it with makeup remover beforehand.
As for day time, splash some lukewarm water on your face first, then wash your face with a small amount of cleanser. Never wash your face with hot or cold water as this can cause broken capillaries. Also becareful not to over-cleanse your face. I personally find that Clinique Liquid Facial Foam and Laneige Pore Clear Foam Cleanser work really well for Oily combination skin. Clinique has a lighter texture while Laneige is more foamy but Laneige cleanser can last me longer as i need just a small pea size of it to wash my entire face and neck while for Clinique cleanser i need a whole pump of it.

Laneige Pore Clear Cleansing Foam im loving!

Clinique Cleanser - Rank 2nd =)

Eucerin Derma Purifier Cleanser, cheap and nice =)

Step 2: Exfoliate+Mask
Exfoliation is the step most people skin in their weekly skincare routine. Some are afraid this will make their pores larger or dries up their skin. The true fact is. if you start to exfoliate your skin properly, you will notice almost immediate difference. Exfoliate your skin can actually shed away dead cell to enable new cell to grow, unclog your pores thus making them smaller and also make your skin looks brighter and smoother.
However you mustn't exfoliate your skin too hard as this can damage your skin can cause redness. I personally like Body Shop Tea Tree scrub as the tea tree oil in it can helps to cure the acne on my skin while i exfoliate. Again, you cant over exfoliate your skin-just once to twice a week is all you need.
After exfoliating your face, you can do apply a mask to supply nutrient to your skin. This is essential to keep your face looking youthful and radiant.

Skin Food Rice Mask - Hydrates + Exfoliate  at the same time..

Skin Food Cucumber Soothing Mask - Very Cooling.

Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Scrub - good for acne prone and oily skin

Amway Artistry Deep Cleasing Clay Mask - Suitable and great for Oily Skin

Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_Ex
It's a leave on mask, very hydrating and great but expensive at the same time =(

Step 3: Toner + Moisturize
No matter what skin type you have, you should use a moisturizer. Even if your skin is oily, it will benefit form moisturizers. Why?? Moisterizers seal moisture into your skin and thus make your skin look youthful. How much moisterizers should you use? You skin can tell you the answer. When your skin is tight, it's crying for moisture. I love Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion as it's oil free and glides on my face smoothly. My face doesnt feel sticky after applying it.
Are eye creams necessary? Yes! I strongly recommend eye creams as the skin around the eye contains no fatty tissue and it therefore very thin and susceptible to wrinkles. Eye creams are formulated to "thinken" this area. Do not apply your normal moisturizer as eye cream as it's not suitable for the are around the eyes.  Oh yes, toner is optional, but if you were to apply toner, apply it before Moisturizer.

Clinique Moisturizer - The best so far..

Clinique Toner - not too bad, but not the best..

Step 4: Sunscreen
The number 1 cause of wrinkles is SUN DAMAGE. So, it's important for us to use sunscreen from early years even on cloudy days. You can purchase 2 moisturizers: one for night and one for day that uncludes UV protection. Another alternative is by using BB Cream which contains SPF. Bear in mind! - Do not use moisturizers that includes UV protection at night. The ingredients are not meant to be used 24/7 and can aggravate skin and cause clogged pores. You must use a makeup remover at night before cleansing your face if you apply anything with sunscreen protection.
Laneige Snow BB Cream is one of my favourite. The coverage is so natural and it contains SPF of 41!! Besides, it smells really good and refreshing to use at day time.

Clarins Cleansing Milk with Alphine Herbs - Nice but not the best.
